I first started my early career in the travel industry. From booking families long dreamt holidays and couples carefully planned out honeymoons at elite travel agencies, to serving passengers at 30,000ft for one of the top airlines, I always had a passion for exploring new cultures, visiting new places and meeting new people. I firmly believe that this helped me become the person I am today. Meeting and speaking to new people and finding out all about them is what I love most. I pride myself in the customer experience I gave to each and every passenger I disembarked off of the planes or holidays that I helped make a reality where many memories have been made.

When I began to get a bit older and health issues meant that I could no longer fly, I decided to rethink what I wanted to do. I had studied accounting at college and had always enjoyed the intricacy of the numbers and getting everything to tie up to the penny. I soon started working at an independent practice based in Sussex and dived head first into studying ACCA alongside a role as a cloud accounting specialist looking after clients predominantly using QuickBooks Online.

Within the first year I had set up lots of new clients and had helped the company I work for get globally recognised as UK QuickBooks Firm of the Future. I broadened my knowledge and skillset into not just QuickBooks but a whole host of apps. I found that apps could enhance my clients businesses through improving their internal systems and thus their customer’s experiences. Through my love of speaking to people and understanding what great customer service meant to them, this allowed me to suggest new ideas to businesses meaning that I started stepping out of the traditional accountants role.

It had always been a dream of mine to one day work for myself after meeting so many business owners in my line of work that had done just that. I soon felt that with a combination of all of my skills, I could start my own company. This was when Busy Bee Business Solutions turned from a dream into a reality. This business would be aimed at really getting to know my clients and their business and not just crunching the numbers. From my experience, aside from the numbers, other aspects of business that most do not take into consideration when starting their own company is admin and marketing. For me, it is nice to take a break from the numbers and embrace my inner creative side every now and then. Editing images for social media, writing blogs and creating websites are amongst things I enjoy doing and it’s great chance for me to explore all aspects of the businesses, not just the financials.

I quite quickly discovered from speaking to people that business owners inevitably want more time with their family or to sleep easy at night. Whether this is achieved through advising and implementing bespoke, tailored systems around a cloud accounting package, tackling the pile of paperwork in the corner of the office or promoting a new business idea through social media, leaflets and a website, I would allow business owners to spend their time injecting their energy and passion into what they set out to do when they first started of owning their company - running a successful businesses.
